After our tour of the Fire Station we were honored to be invited to ride on the float for the Fire Department in the Children's Gasparillo Extravaganza parade!!! It was our first parade of course, so it was pretty exciting!!! Our float was the Krewe of Saint Florian. St. Florian is the patron saint of firefighters. The float was two levels and all handmade by two local firefighters right here in Tampa. It was amazing. There were lots of people on the float with us and we endured the chilly wind blowing off the Tampa Bay!! Our float played great music and we all were given tons of beads to throw to all of the spectators in the crowd. Can you believe this parade float even had a bathroom on it!!! Very convenient for lots of children drinking juice boxes while on the parade route! Despite the chilly weather, it was quite an experience to wave to all of the people in the crowd. We even saw our friends the Richardson's from the float!! All of our kids were wearing their Team Greco gear!! It was an unforgettable experience for us all. Thank you Tampa Fire Rescue and all of the firefighters who are part of the Krewe of Saint Florian!!!
