Last night at our church the Middle School Youth Group held a Dodge Brawl. Nic wanted in on the action and called some of his wrestling buddies to compete in the brawl. The boys all wore our latest gear for the competition and of course the outfits aren't complete without headgear!!! An amazing time was had by all the boys, perhaps next year we will practice for this tournament!!!!
Grace Family Church hosted 345 middle schoolers on Friday night. Not bad for a Friday nig
According to a Cancer research website called stbaldricks.org, more adults get Cancer than children. So that means more money should go to the research of adult Cancer. That makes sense, right?
But if you look at the averages, and I am talking AVERAGES here......
The average age an adult is diagnosed with cancer is around the age of 67... Yes, I think that seems high too. If/ when these patients die from cancer they have lost an average of 15 years of life... Seems low
I am 4 years old, only 4.
Did you know that only 4% of federal funding for Cancer research goes towards pediatric cancers?
That means for every dollar of federal funding, only 4 cents goes toward pediatrics. 4 pennies, that is it! No wonder not much is being done to cure DIPG. It is thought that DIPG holds the key to all other cancers.... If a breakthrough could be made into my cancer, chances are many other cancers could be CURED.
DIPG is only found in children, ther
I was 2 when I was diagnosed with brain cancer.
I have LIVED 2 years with brain cancer.
I am Greco, I am a Warrior, God loves ME!
September is Childhood Awareness Month, are you aware? I am. #teamgreco #pediatriccancer #grecoromanbouzakis #takedowncancer #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma #radiation #livegreco
DIPG has been in the news lately. I guess because of the month being Childhood Awareness Month. But when this month is over, the story only goes away for people not directly affected by this monster. I read a story today and it was a sad one. Most stories about DIPG end the same. It is hard to read these stories. A lot of commenters on these DIPG stories say the same thing..... How they are so sad to hear the story, how they will hug their own healthy children more, how
Did you know that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month?
I have a child, he has cancer, I am very aware.
It is a lonely road to travel, no matter how many family members, friends, and others you surround yourself with. In your mind, you cannot forget that there is a terrible disease inside your child. You are human, you will have doubts and you will worry and stress and you will feel alone.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, but when you have
Greco had an appointment with his ophthalmologist this morning. His vision is still perfect!! We still patch every other day and that has maintained his vision for almost a year now!! This picture is a testament to the kind of time his doctor takes to answer all my questions. I guess Greco was just exhausted or bored from our conversation! Good appointment, good news! #livegreco #radiation #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma #takedowncancer #grecoromanbouzakis #pediatriccancer
As much as we do with our wrestling teams, camps and practices..... It is NOT all about Greco. We don't try to make him the focus of these events. But something happened this weekend that was completely "kid led" or "wrestler led", as opposed to the kids doing what the coaches tell them.
Every day after the intensive clinic with Sammie Henson was over, Troy took over and had the boys go to the track for a little running. I am not sure how far they ran each day, but it
We had the distinct pleasure of having Troy's college wrestling partner, Sammie Henson come to Tampa to do an intensive clinic this weekend. Not only is he our friend but he just so happens to be an Olympian and is the head coach at West Virginia. We were honored to use the wrestling facilities at Jesuit High School where another great friend is the head coach, Sal Basile. Three days of great workouts, lots of technique and fantastic instruction from "The Bull". We had a
Today marks 2 years since the day Greco was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma ( DIPG ). Praise God he is still here!!
We were given such a short life expectancy, but God has been so Good! We are thankful each and everyday that He has allowed us to witness this MIRACLE!
Keep Fighting Buddy!! You are a Warrior! #teamgreco #pediatriccancer #grecoromanbouzakis #takedowncancer #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma #radiation #livegreco
