Greco was the official team captain of the Steinbrenner High School Football team on Friday night in their game against Palm Harbor. Mascot University gave out these super awesome shirts for all of the students!! We attended the pep rally at the school earlier in the day, what fun!! A special thanks to Steinbrenner for making it a special day for our family and to the Palm Harbor football and wrestling friends for their generosity to us. Friday night football games are al
The head wrestling coach of Wheaton College, who also happens to be a 2 time Olympian, sent Greco this awesome shirt, an FCA bible and 2 posters!! His entire team wears this shirt in their pictures on the team poster! Thanks Coach Jim Gruenwald!!!!
Thanks for thinking about Greco and taking the time to send him these very cool gifts!! #teamgreco #livegreco #pediatriccancer #grecoromanbouzakis #radiation #takedowncancer #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma
This past weekend Greco played in his second soccer game. He just loves to play and always tries so hard to get to the ball! Here is a picture, taken by his Aunt Terry, that shows him kicking the ball down the field. He runs so fast and tumbles and gets right back to his feet!
We continue to be so thankful to God for all the blessings we have been given. As we are just entering our 3rd year of DIPG, we believe Greco is healed. We believe God has spared him. Greco is
Sometimes things that uncomfortable to look at are easy to turn away from. Childhood Cancer isn't easy to look at, but you can not look away. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there. #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma #takedowncancer #radiation #grecoromanbouzakis #pediatriccancer #livegreco #teamgreco
It is still Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Even though the month is almost over, many of you will still be aware of childhood cancer long after September ends. Some of you will forever be reminded of childhood cancer. And yes, some of you will soon forget. Life will keep going and you may never think of it again. Who knows you may never have to deal with cancer with your own children. But if you are reading this right now, you must have some connection to childhood ca
What is a true champion? The person at the top of the stand at the end of a competition? The person that fights and battles for things bigger than he is AND for those things much smaller than he is? The person, that in his glory, remembers those that may never get to be at the top of the stand? Is a true champion selfless in his victory? Is he or she giving to those that may be insignificant to the world. A true champion is all of these things but also much more.
Went to Central Florida Wrestling Academy in Orlando for a workout today and saw this shirt..
This is who we are.
Live Greco! Go Team Greco!! #teamgreco #livegreco #pediatriccancer #grecoromanbouzakis #radiation #takedowncancer #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma
Today was Greco's very first official day of participating in an organized team sport!!! He and his big sister, Jaclyn, are playing on recreation teams at Idlewild Baptist Church. They had a great time meeting new friends and coaches. It was also kind of sad, to sit on the sidelines.....alone. (Troy had the big boys at wrestling practice.) But the sadness isn't really necessary because watching Greco do something that we were told he would never get to do is just amazing!!!
Last year my Mom had this cool t shirt made for me. It is for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. These ribbons are everywhere! As you know there are many colors and they all mean different things. Gold is for Cancer, gray is for brain cancer.
It doesn't matter what color you wear or what ribbon is on the back of your car.... Just don't forget.... Right now there is a family of a little kid somewhere that is getting a diagnosis that will change their lives forever....
While cleaning our closets last weekend, we stumbled upon Greco's mask. He had not seen it in a long time, so I took it down for him to look at. Greco tried it on, and sure enough his sweet little head still fits in the thing.
From the picture you can see the x marks the spots. Those pieces of tape helped guide the radiation into my little guy's head. The front has a hole in it so they could slip an oxygen tube into his mouth. Greco wore this mask for all of his radiati
