Can you believe I took this picture just 24 hours after Greco's eye surgery!!!! His eyes are still hurting so much. He still keeps them closed most of the time. But after the kids built and decorated their gingerbread house we told Greco that if he wanted a nibble of the creation he had to open his eyes.
Look at how straight his eye is!!!!! They don't look as bloody as yesterday. It looks like he is recovering beautifully!! Still painful, but absolutely beautiful!!
Today we spent the day at All Children's Hospital. Once again poor little Greco wasn't able to eat and was "starving" for the hours drive to St. Petersburg. It was a cloudy and rainy day. It wasn't until the drive home that I could appreciate that. It never rains much this time of year here in Florida, but today was a messy rain. I get so scared driving over that long bridge to St. Pete on sunny days, rainy days are even worse.
We did not have much of a wait once we
I did not mention that on the way to VA, I received word from the oncologist that Greco needed to be seen. Changes were noted on the latest MRI. Imagine my shock! I had to carry this information and all of the uncertainty and what if's for days. Changes are noted, what?
With no more information other than you need to come in, what else should I think? Changes are noted...... Changes, there haven't been changes in a very long time. And all of those changes were good.
After the duals on Sunday, instead of hopping in the car to drive all the way back home, we decided to take it easy. We took the kids to Mount Trashmore and let them run!!!! Yes after 3 days of wrestling they wanted to run up a mountain!!! It was so nice to spend time just hanging out together. We got to watch the sunset and the weather was beautiful. Time together with each other is so important. Our lives are busy but we grab moments like this to reconnect. We are very b
While in Virginia this weekend Greco received a surprise package!! The package was sent to the hotel of one of our wrestling families the Ellers, and they delivered it to Greco at the venue. Ben Provisor ( 2012 Olympic Wrestler) and his beautiful wife, Leigh Provisor (World Bronze Medalist) sent Greco this awesome shirt!
It is so awesome and reversible too!!! Thanks so much Ben and LJ!! You guys rock!!! Greco loves the shirt and wears it proudly!!! #teamgreco #livegreco
We spent the weekend in Virginia with two of our teams wrestling at the Vacation Duals. Troy along with Jason Duva coached our Elementary team and Duck Reyna coached our Middle school team. The boys and girl come from all over the country to wrestle for Team Greco. We are so excited to be able to give the kids an opportunity to wrestle some of the top teams in the nation. It is really a tough tournament, lots of matches, lots of studs! My favorite part is getting to visit
We went in this morning for our next routine MRI. We are now doing them every six months. That is good news, as we used to go in every three months. Every time we do this, poor Greco has to be sedated. After the MRI is completed, he has to go to the recovery room. It really is a long day when we come to the hospital, and no fun. However it is really nice to see the hospital staff that have been on this journey with us. We can almost see the look of relief on their faces
2 years ago today the ladybug came and took Greco's tumor away!!! We love all of the ladybug things that we have collected in the last 2 years. We are so blessed that God sent that tiny bug to take away Greco's tumor. Every time we see a ladybug we are reminded of this miracle!! Praise God!! #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma #takedowncancer #radiation #grecoromanbouzakis #pediatriccancer #livegreco #teamgreco
It was reported today that Chad Carr lost his battle with DIPG. Although we have never met him, he is one of Greco's fellow DIPG Warriors. His name has been in the news and we have been following his story. Chad was only 5, and lived 15 months with DIPG. #teamgreco #livegreco #pediatriccancer #grecoromanbouzakis #radiation #takedowncancer #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma
A group of Florida wrestlers travelled to Tulsa this weekend to compete in the World of Wrestling Kickoff Classic. There was a lot of tough competition and plenty of matches. A great group of boys that work hard and wrestle tough!! #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma #takedowncancer #radiation #grecoromanbouzakis #pediatriccancer #livegreco #teamgreco
