Greco has been begging his Dad for a new fishing pole. He has had a Spider-Man one as well as a Transformer one. You know those expensive kid rod and reels that last about 2 days and never, ever catch a fish.
Greco wanted yet another one. So, Troy took Greco to buy a "big boy" rod and reel today. And lo and behold this is what he caught on his first cast!!! A catfish, right out of the pond in our back yard!
He looks so proud of his catch!!! He wants to be a fisherman
Today marks 32 months since Greco was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Even though he has lived much longer than we were told, Greco is not out of the woods. The last two MRI's have shown signs of swelling and increased blood flow. And although the size of the tumor has not increased, these changes indicate the tumor may be starting to grow again. Greco has LIVED for 32 months with DIPG. He has fought this monster for 32 months. He is still fighting. Wh
Good Friday started early. Around 2AM, our little girl woke up with a fever. 103.6!!!! I have seen that number before, pretty sure what is happening here. So not much to do but try to bring it down until we can get to the pediatrician. Sore throat and chills at 4AM. Come on, hurry up and let the day get started, I have got to go to the doctor ASAP!! 6:30, fever spikes again. I am exhausted and the sun isn't even up yet. Have to get on the phone at exactly 8, to try to g
As you know, we LOVE ladybugs at our house. We don't see them very often, but when we do, it is an exciting event. Today was a busy day and stressful with rushing here and there. On the way to wrestling practice a ladybug landed on the windshield of our car!! Of course, my mind instantly races to the day 2 years ago that a ladybug did the very same thing. I pointed out the ladybug to the kids and there were squeals of excitement!! What was so unusual, is that the ladybug s
Most of us have heard that simple phrase many, many times in our lives. It seems to be true. When bad things happen, they usually come in bunches. Well, lately at our house the phrase should be, "When it rains, it's a MONSOON!!" Oh boy, with all of the sickness we have had, you would think that would be plenty to endure. But that is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.
In the last two weeks we have been deluged with "unfortunate events". I do not believe in luck,
It has been a long time since I last updated the blog. Sorry for leaving you hanging. But things have been far from quiet around here. We enjoyed a wonderful time at the 2nd Annual Live Greco Invitational at Steinbrenner High School. There was a great turnout and the talent of the wrestlers was amazing. My mother in law and sister in law both stayed the entire day from 7AM to 10PM helping me sell Greco gear. It was good to see so many people wearing the gear. A special
The weather is beautiful here in sunny Florida. Spring has sprung! But there are clouds full of rain in my mind. Today was not a perfect day, but I am looking for the rainbow. Greco had an oncology appointment this morning. His latest MRI scans were discussed at tumor board today.
Let me preface this with.... Greco is doing awesome! His eyes look great. He is eating well, riding his bike with no training wheels, wrestling at practice every day, he is a perfect little
To The Second Annual Live Greco Invitational at Steinbrenner High School in Lutz, Florida. It is this Saturday, January 30, 2016. Wrestling starts at 9:30 am, Finals start at 6:00pm.
You are in for a fantastic day of awesome wrestling talent from 16 teams across the state of Florida. Here is a picture of Greco wearing the belt he received last year at the First Live Greco Invitational! A very special Thank You to Coach Paul Noble for once again spearheading this event!!
So it has been a very long time since I have updated the site. Life is happening around here!! We have had a busy time with the holidays, Greco's recovery, wrestling tournaments, family illness and lots of school. Most of which would probably not be of interest to read, much less write about. So, in my attempt to get back on track and honor one of my New Year's Resolutions I will make an effort to back track and report on some of the things that have been happening here.
Merry Christmas from the Bouzakis Bunch!!
( please note, this picture was taken before the eye surgery!!!)
I had great intentions to get this picture to shutterfly and printed onto beautiful Christmas cards and mailed out to all of our friends and family before Christmas. Sorry, it didn't happen this year!!! But Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus!! #teamgreco #livegreco #pediatriccancer #grecoromanbouzakis #radiation #takedowncancer #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma
